Solar Installer

Trade Recruit is proud to be recruiting on behalf of one of our prestigious clients based in Coventry, who are expanding their renewable energy division and are now seeking an experienced Solar PV Electrician to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician with Solar PV experience to work on high-quality installations across the UK. The role is available on either a permanent PAYE basis or self‑employed subcontractor basis, offering flexibility to suit your working preference.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, testing, and commissioning of Solar PV systems
• Carrying out electrical works in line with current regulations and industry standards
• Completing testing and inspection paperwork accurately
• Fault finding, maintenance, and remedial works where required
• Working independently and as part of a wider installation team
• Occasional nationwide travel for project-based work (1–2 trips per month)

Requirements

Must-have:

• Gold Card (ECS)
• 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification
• Proven experience working as an electrician on Solar PV installations
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance
• Willingness to travel nationwide occasionally (1–2 times per month)

Nice-to-have:

• Solar PV-specific qualifications or certifications
• Experience working on commercial renewable projects

Location & Working Pattern

• Base location: Coventry
• Travel: Nationwide travel required 1–2 times per month
• Working pattern:
• Full-time, permanent (PAYE), or
• Self-employed subcontractor

Salary & Pay Options

• PAYE: £44,000–£48,000 per annum, depending on experience
• Subcontractor (self‑employed): £250–£350 per day, depending on experience and scope of works
