Solar Installer

Trade Recruit is working on behalf of a fast-growing and well-established contractor in Castleford to recruit an experienced Electrician with Solar experience to join their expanding team on a subcontract basis.

Role Overview

As a Solar Installer Subcontractor, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations, testing, maintenance, and supporting the installation and commissioning of solar PV systems. You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard in line with current regulations and company expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance work
• Install, wire, and commission solar PV systems
• Perform testing and inspection works in line with industry standards
• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out effective repairs
• Work on both domestic and commercial projects
• Ensure all work complies with current electrical and health & safety regulations
• Work safely at height when required
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism
• Work independently and as part of a wider installation team
• Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are used safely and efficiently
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organised

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a qualified Electrician
• Previous solar PV installation experience is essential
• 18th Edition qualification required
• Testing & Inspection qualification desirable
• ECS/CSCS card preferred
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and fault finding
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
• Full UK driving licence preferred
• Reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented
