Domiciliary Optometrist

Trade Recruit is proud to be recruiting on behalf of one of our prestigious clients based in Birmingham, a growing and forward‑thinking domiciliary optical company, who are looking to appoint an experienced Domiciliary Optometrist.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding business delivering high‑quality eye care to patients in private properties and care homes, with clinics also carried out in the company’s own mobile eyecare unit (mobile eyecare van) where required, offering a rewarding, community‑focused role with excellent work‑life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive eye examinations in domiciliary settings
• Visiting patients in private homes and care homes, and operating clinics from the mobile eyecare unit where required
• Providing professional clinical advice and tailored optical solutions
• Working closely with the Optical Assistant to ensure smooth clinics
• Recommending appropriate lenses and eyewear
• Maintaining accurate and compliant patient records
• Driving between appointments across the Birmingham area

RequirementsEssential:

• GOC‑registered Optometrist
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate and patient‑focused approach

Desirable:

• Experience working with elderly or vulnerable patients
