Trade Recruit is proud to represent a well-established and rapidly growing home improvement company, founded in 2014. Specialising in full kitchen and bathroom installations, house renovations, extensions and more. Our client is renowned for their exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail and outstanding customer service.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to expand their team by recruiting experienced General Builders and Groundworkers to work across residential and commercial projects in Northamptonshire and surrounding counties.

General Builder

As a General Builder, you will take ownership of a range of construction, renovation and maintenance projects, delivering high-quality work to meet deadlines. Key responsibilities include:

· Site preparation & planning: setting out the site, organising materials and coordinating with other trades.

· Structural work: bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, roofing and general construction tasks.

· Renovation & repair: maintenance, refurbishment and remedial works across residential and commercial properties.

· Compliance: ensuring work meets building codes, safety regulations and quality standards.

· Project management: supervising labour and maintaining timelines and deliverables.

· Finishing works: painting, decorating and fitting fixtures to complete projects.

Groundworker

As a Groundworker, you will prepare and manage external sites to high standards, including:

· Site clearance: removing vegetation, debris and preparing the ground.

· Setting out: marking boundaries and levels according to design specifications.

· Foundations: digging trenches, laying concrete and preparing sub-surfaces for structural works.

· Drainage installation: laying pipes, manholes and ensuring water management systems are in place.

· External works: constructing driveways, footpaths and hard landscaping.

· Final touches: paving, kerbing and completing external areas.

· Safety & compliance: operating heavy machinery safely and ensuring structural integrity.

Skills & Requirements

General Builder:

• Bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, roofing, painting, repairs and compliance checks.

Groundworker:

• Site clearance, drainage installation, concreting, paving, landscaping and setting out.

Desirable Qualifications / Certifications:

• DBS, CSCS, WIAPS
• City & Guilds / NVQ qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum 2–3 years in a similar role
