Role Overview

We are looking for committed, hardworking Hygiene Operatives to join established teams responsible for maintaining high levels of cleanliness and biosecurity in poultry sheds and associated farm areas.

This is a physically demanding role involving pressure washing, sanitation tasks and working outdoors in all weather conditions. You will be working as part of a close-knit team, travelling to various sites nationwide to complete scheduled cleaning projects.

Work Locations

This position requires nationwide travel, with work taking place at poultry farms across the UK.

Key operational hubs include:

  • Main Site: Wood Dalling, Norfolk

Key Responsibilities

As a Hygiene Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring that all poultry environments are cleaned to the highest standards in line with animal welfare, hygiene and biosecurity requirements.

Your duties will include:

  • Applying foam detergent inside poultry sheds using pressure-washing equipment
  • High-pressure cleaning of all internal equipment
  • Sanitising floors, walls, ventilation systems and general structures
  • Washing and disinfecting shed equipment such as boots, brushes, tools and control rooms
  • High-pressure cleaning of outside yards, pathways and perimeter areas
  • Cleaning feed bin bases and associated external equipment
  • Ensuring all waste material is handled safely and disposed of correctly

Health, Safety & Biosecurity

  • Following all on-site hygiene, safety and biosecurity protocols
  • Always wearing the correct PPE
  • Ensuring vehicles and equipment are cleaned and stored correctly

Teamwork & Site Support

  • Working collaboratively within a small mobile team
  • Assisting with loading/unloading equipment
  • Maintaining a positive and professional attitude with colleagues and site staff

Working Schedule

  • 5–6 days per week (depending on workload)
  • Early starts may be required due to travel and site access times
  • Nationwide travel is part of the role, with transport provided

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Willingness to travel nationwide for work
  • Good physical fitness and ability to handle manual tasks
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Previous experience with pressure washing or hygiene work is beneficial, but not essential (training provided)
