Trainee Project Manager

Trade Recruit is proud to be recruiting on behalf of one of our prestigious clients based in the West Midlands (Lichfield WS13 6LL).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious individual with a strong roofing background to join a successful and growing roofing contractor as a Trainee Project Manager (office and field based position).

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on roofing experience who is looking to progress into project management. Working closely with the senior management team, you will gain valuable experience in the planning, coordination and successful delivery of roofing and waterproofing projects across the West Midlands.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time and to the highest quality standards while receiving full support and training to develop a long-term career in project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day management of roofing and waterproofing projects.
• Attend site visits and liaise with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support project planning, including labour allocation, materials and scheduling.
• Monitor project progress and help maintain high-quality workmanship standards.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Complete site documentation, progress reports and project records.
• Assist in managing project costs and programme targets.
• Support the delivery of projects within agreed timescales and budgets.

Requirements

Essential

• 3-5 years’ experience within the roofing industry.
• Good understanding of roofing systems and construction practices.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with customers, suppliers and site teams.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Previous experience assisting with project coordination or site supervision.
• Knowledge of commercial and domestic roofing projects.
